Windows pristinely surround the restaurant and tables are perfectly placed along the outside walls to ensure every table gets quality views of the city and ocean.

But the breathtaking views, while phenomenal, aren’t the only draw at Vista 18. The food here tantalizes the food critic within. With a regularly rotating menu, the chef assures that each visit brings variety and quality dishes, no matter the pallet.

Our romantic dinner began just after a gorgeous sunset.

Seriously, romance exudes here. From every window, the sky showed off incredible pinks, oranges and purples as the sun descended on the horizon.

As we settled into our seats for the evening, we quickly relaxed into the comfort of each other’s company. It’s easy to do here.

Our server helped us settle in as she shared the specials and wine parings with us. From duck, beef brisket, and tuna to lamb shank, and snow crab, Vista 18 will have the perfect selection for you.

Gluten free and vegetarian selections are also available, but if you’re like me you may feel overwhelmed and need some help selecting your entree.

I advise talking with your server about what he or she recommends. Generally they know the menu quite well and can help steer you toward something that will suite your tastes. Ask questions. Be curious. They are there to help.

Our server boldly suggested I not make a substitution with a flavour combination and I’m so glad I listened.

Since wasabi is not a flavour I regularly choose, I thought omitting it would make the dish better for me. Our server challenged me to give it a chance anyway.

I decided to listen and wow, did she ever know what she was talking about. The chef at Vista 18 expertly marries flavours and can be trusted to create something you will surely love.

Scrumptious soup, sensational salad, exciting entrees, delectable desserts and positively perfect panoramas all await at Vista 18.

Since Vista 18 is on the top floor of Chateau Victoria and we were staying in one of their romantic suite just one floor down it was so nice to slip away into the elevator and continue on with our evening.

Chateau Victoria was the perfect choice for our romantic getaway since it has an award winning cocktail lounge off the lobby, a top rated restaurant with jaw dropping sunset views and its just 5 minutes Victoria Harbour. In fact, we walked from the hotel to our whale watching tour and ocean kayaking is just a stroll away as well.
