Convenient, Speedy and Scenic!
If you don’t need to bring a car to Vancouver Island and have a little bit more cash to spend, traveling by seaplane is the way to go. We love flying with Harbour Air any chance we can. The feeling is hard to explain, it’s just so West Coast!

You can go from downtown Nanaimo on Vancouver Island to downtown Vancouver in under 20 minutes and get a scenic world-class tour while your at it!
The check-in process is painless: You only need to arrive for your flight 25 minutes before your flight time, and you can even switch your flight or cancel within 15 minutes! And yes, we are still talking about flying.
Want to fly to Whistler, Salt Spring Island or Victoria? Not a problem, these locations and more are accessible by seaplane. You can even request Harbour Air to customize a private charter flight just for you. Here is a complete list of locations where Harbour Air flies on a regular basis.
When scheduling your flight, you’ll notice that Seaplanes can only fly during daylight hours, so you’ll want to plan accordingly.
Need a shuttle bus service on the other side? Harbour Air shuttle has a complimentary service to help get you where you need to be. Upon arrival in Vancouver or Victoria there is a service area available within the downtown hotels. In South Vancouver, the shuttle is available to the South or Main Terminals of the Vancouver International Airport. When flying into Whistler there is a shuttle that will take you to and from Whistler Village.
Need a rental car on the other side? Not a problem Harbour Air can book that for you at the same time as booking your flight. They have negotiated a special rate for their customers.
We do have one caution for you: If you have a time-sensitive appointment on the other side of your destination (like an international flight, for example) and you are traveling during the non-summer months, flights are sometimes delayed or cancelled due to fog and you may find yourself racing to BC Ferries.
