Grease! Live At The Chemainus Theatre

It’s electrifying! From start to finish, Grease delivers laughs, drama, and surprises along with incredible music and dancing.

It’s Electrifying! It’s exactly the show you want to see this summer on your Vancouver Island vacation.

If you watched Grease when you were younger, you’ll no doubt still have the songs flowing through your head. And chances are, as you sit in your seat at The Chemainus Theatre watching it live on stage, you’ll actually sing out loud with the cast.

At least, that’s what happened to me.

From start to finish, Grease delivers laughs, drama, and surprises along with incredible music and dancing!

Grease is the story of two high school kids Danny and Sandy, who meet and fall in love during summer vacation. When the school year starts, they’re surprised to discover they attend the same high school. At first glance, one would assume all is well, until the reality of the stark differences between the two set in.

As they navigate new friends and old ones, can they fit together despite their differences?

Sometimes we think teens today are so very different from those of long ago. But as we look in on the teens of Rydell High in 1959, they face many of the same pressures of love, friendship, rebellion, drugs and alcohol as well as just plain old peer pressure that teens of today face.

Teens are pretty much still the same.

Everyone just wants to fit in and be accepted.  Danny and Sandy, Rizzo and Kenickie, Frenchie and all the others are no different.

And as they navigate their world, they sing and dance their way into our hearts. The music of Grease is simply unforgettable. It makes your feet stomp as you rock ‘n roll, and be-bop your night away.

The music pulls you in.

The characters draw you closer.

The memories return and bring back all the fun you had when you watched it for the first time. And with a few songs that don’t appear in the movie, Grease will still surprise you.

Chemainus Theatre Audience Advisory:
“Appropriate for adult, teenage and some pre-teen audiences (parental guidance advised) This spirited musical with a fabulous fifties-style soundtrack contains innuendo and occasional mild language that some may find offensive.”
